After this I won’t ever complain about English spelling system any more.
Other European languages having phonetic spellings fail miserably e.g.
- Italian undici + due = dodici + uno
- Spanish: once + dos = doce + uno
- Fr*nch: onze + deux = douze + un
- Romanian: unsprezece + doi = doisprezece + unu (almost there! only a “u” remains)
日本語:十一 + 二 = 十二 + 一
It works in japanese just fine, in large part because it’s (written and phonetic) just “ten one” and “ten two”
You can also rearrange the letters in “Mother In Law” to read “Woman Hitler”
