Launch statistics
☑️ 4th Atlas V mission of 2025, 105th overall
☑️ 5th ULA mission of 2025, 168th overall
Mission Details 🚀
The ViaSat-3 constellation is comprised of three Ka-band satellites, each designed to be capable of rapidly shifting capacity throughout its coverage area to deliver bandwidth where and when it’s needed most. Once in service, ViaSat-3 F2 is expected to more than double the bandwidth capacity of Viasat’s entire existing fleet, adding more than 1 Tbps capacity to Viasat’s network over the Americas, with anticipated service entry in early 2026.
Previous ULA launch: Project Kuiper (KA-03)
Next ULA launch: TBD
Not many Atlas V rockets left.
Indeed. After this, all remaining Atlas V launches will either be for Kuiper or Starliner.
I’m really curious about the future of Starliner, especially if Isaacman gets confirmed. Dream Chaser was already downgraded to not having any contracted flights. I wonder if Starliner will get the same treatment.
Scrub for the day, 24-hour recycle:
ULA Launch Director James Whelan has announced that we will not continue with countdown operations today.
Launch Conductor Ed Kitta has started leading his team through activities to safe the Atlas V rocket and Space Launch Complex-41 facilities following this scrub declaration.
Another launch attempt will be possible in 24 hours.
Update per ULA website:
Nov 05 22:19
We will be extending this programmed hold period at T-minus 4 minutes while engineers continue to work a technical issue. Our launch window tonight extends 44 minutes, giving us additional time to work the issue.
No launch attempt tonight, per ULA website:
The launch of a United Launch Alliance Atlas V carrying the ViaSat-3 F2 mission for Viasat is scrubbed for tonight’s launch attempt due to a reoccurrence of the issue with the Atlas V booster liquid oxygen tank vent valve.
The team will evaluate the hardware, and we will release a new launch date when available.
