In terms of specs, there is a lot in your list that can vary, and make those specs jump. Where to start, IMO, would be a 7th gen Intel. If an 11th gen is an option, there and up transcoded av1.

For storage you’re going to have to do the math yourself in terms of what you’ll have. I have 40tb of media. I used to have a 1tb drive for everything. Storage is how much you want to allocate, nothing more or less.

Ram is similar. Find the worst case game, most overloaded with plugins Minecraft server or whatever, and start there on memory use. JF won’t take much, your game choice might.

Silverware would probably be the oldest, my wife’s grandmother bought them in the early 1900s as antiques, and then some “modern” accessories that matched, now antiques themselves. They get used on special occasions mostly.

You can, but you can also run into some issues if you have git LFS, if one rejects for whatever reason, or sometimes just branch issues.

Thats why I prefer to go to one repo and push out from there, but it is absolutely doable with git by itself.

Be aware that you may need to temporarily use reolink’s app to set it up first - turn on the ports, for rtsp/onvif/http(s) then you can trash the app.

I think the HA integration will use the proprietary port/api for setup and you can avoid that way too, but don’t quote me on that one, you may want to confirm first.

I set up an “about my repos” repo, which has a readme detailing the process, and explanations of what is where and what they are all for, which is what I point clients to. That also has a link to my personal forgejo to demo local git as well (which can also sync, btw) along with a note that it may be down for various reasons like updates or changes I’m making, which is why I also sync elsewhere.

Depending on what services you’re selling to clients, it makes for a neat and simple addition to the list of skills to demo!

With the app, yes, if you enabled notifications with thumbnails. Using the app and giving cameras internet access is the issue there. Deleted data stayed longer than people expected, too.

The crappy generated URLs for camera access was eufy’s fault, but thumbnails in notifications from the app I would consider a user ignorance issue personally.

That said I do not ever recommend using any manufacturer’s app, or giving a camera internet access. Isolate it on a vlan, firewall it off, and use a local open source NVR that you’ll access directly.

Reolink, Amcrest, and Eufy (only for their newer PoE line, they have a nice multi-lens feature and on-device processing for identification).

Keeping Dem incumbents in power by slavishly voting for them every time they come up for re-election is exactly how the party has stayed as limited as it has.

Confusing the general elections and primaries are also an issue.

Work to do that starts earlier. I worked with some DSA and WFP folks to get some socialists minded folks on more local tickets, unfortunately there was nothing for the larger positions this time around.

If you don’t like the people on the ballot, you will need to start making efforts much, much earlier than weeks before voting begins.
