  • That’s a weird timeline…

In 2010, it was reported that Perry and Rose went out in Melbourne on the night of 6 August, including to Spice Market.

Perry “crashed” the Melbourne high school formal at the Grand Hyatt – where Spice Market was located – according to the story.

So Rose would have been mid-20s… And not an actor yet. I think she was modeling?

They ended up at a highschool prom.

Rose said Perry assaulted her, but there’s the child abuse department involved.

So if Rose didn’t go to the prom, it sounds like Perry tried something, got shutdown, and went a prom to pick up someone else? Like, I don’t know why that department is involved if no part of the story involves a minor…

  • Name Tag, as revealed in February by The New York Times, would work through the artificial intelligence assistant built into Meta’s smart glasses, allowing wearers to pull up information about people in their field of view. Engineers have reportedly been weighing two versions of the feature: one that would only identify people the wearer is already connected to on a Meta platform, and a broader version that could recognize anyone with a public account on a Meta service such as Instagram.

Creeps will instantly use it to go to where women are and find their accounts.

Not to mention any woman that has to work a customer facing job.

This would suck for men too tho, it would suck for everyone.

But it might be what it finally takes to get the dumb masses off Meta platforms. There’s so many other reasons anyways, but idiots just can’t delete their Instas

  • I got to go inside a reactor once (obviously after it “cooled” down) and everyone immediately got into a competition to see who could get the most rads.

Instructor trying to showing us how it works and everyone just has one hip pressed against anything that had a giant warning sign on it.

I never really thought of it before, but wearing radiation monitors right next to your junk probably isn’t a good idea…

Even the first groups in barely got anything tho, it was just ultra specific monitoring so when people got cancer the government can quantify how much was work related. Like, we measured millrem, 1/1000th of a rad. But it was still a distraction trying to get the “high score” for radiation exposure.

For comparison these chips withstand 50,000 gray, which is 5,000,000 rads and 5 billion millirem…

For shit like cleaning up diasters zones via robots, this is huge. I don’t know if it would ever lead to wifi robots in an operating reactor tho. Maybe in “standby” as part of energy procedures, but not activated till a switch is flipped to expose it from a secondary shielding that way it starts fresh with zero exposure and ensures it will do what it’s supposed in the event it’s needed.

  • Daniel Vávra, Warhorse Studios’ co-founder, appears to be fully on board with the controversial technology and recently took to X to support Nvidia’s DLSS 5 AI-slop filter tech. “This is just a little uncanny beginning,” Vávra stated in his post. “No way haters will stop this.”

On the plus side we got two amazing games out of Warhouse…

But I doubt I’ll ever buy another game from them now. Not even as a boycott thing, if they’re embracing the slop this hard at all levels, I’m just not gonna want anything they make

  • First, editors can use LLMs to suggest refinements to their own writing, as long as the edits are checked for accuracy. In other words, it’s being treated like any other grammar checker or writing assistance tool. The policy says, “ LLMs can go beyond what you ask of them and change the meaning of the text such that it is not supported by the sources cited.”

The second exemption for LLMs is with translation assistance. Editors can use AI tools for the first pass at translating text, but they still need to be fluent enough in both languages to catch errors. As with regular writing refinements, anyone using LLMs also has to check that incorrect information hasn’t been injected.

    Both pretty reasonable

  • I mean, it’s more expensive today than two years ago…

But it’s not like I was saying it was crap, but it’s a “1440p card” that can still easily do 4k if you change some settings.

since my old 2070 days, and yet somehow it can’t even run half of the new releases at 1440p.

An 8 year old card, won’t run modern new release at a resolutions higher than it ran stuff when it was released?

Like, I’m pretty sure 1440 screens weren’t even common in 2018, that card was made for 1080.

It’s just a weird spot to stop generation wise

  • building something novel and cool is arguably a better use of it than just spending it on luxury goods.

    Actually the opposite.

Taking up contractors time on this stuff means less making affordable housing which makes housing less affordable for everyone else.

In general.its happening to our entire economies. Only the wealthiest can afford things, so man hours and resources go into a small amount of luxury products rather than what the masses need.

Raising the prices at all.price points.

This is worse than normal.lixuryngoods, because it doesn’t matter what jewelers spend their time on, we all need housing. And that’s not even getting into the larger the single price tag the bigger the problem.

Like, there’s a whole bunch of reasons this is horrible, even if I’m not explaining them all at once.

  • Mr Everingham said being able to position the house to capture or avoid the sun or breeze saved an estimated 50 per cent in energy costs.

They keep saying that, but logically it doesn’t make sense…

With energy efficient windows, you’re not getting much free heat/cooling even if you were constantly rotating for optimal position.

And with the $350k price tag, even with 50% savings you’d have to reach 350k paid just to break even.

This is a rich person’s waste of money and they’re back rationalizing why the waste of resources is worth it.
