NBN Co today launched a proposal to provide five times faster download speeds on its popular nbn Home Fast product, which would see wholesale download speeds accelerate from 100/20 Mbps to 500/50 Mbps1 at no extra wholesale cost to retailers.
I’ll really annoy you by saying that VDSL2 (the tech you are using) supports up to around 250mbit throughput but no Aussie ISP has enabled that option.
Your modem probably already supports it because its a pretty old standard.
FTTN can in theory get higher speeds, but hardly anyone has a line short and high quality enough to actually achieve them so NBN Co doesn’t even bother.

Enjoy, have a nice day.

FTTC can provide these sorts of speeds, FTTN, not so much. VDSL2 can deliver 250Mbit/s at around 200m.
