More than thinking I imagine it would be some sort of instinctual fear of seeing or sensing something so different from the normal environment there.
Though, I know there’s at least one type of octopus down there that I expect would be smart enough to tell they’re seeing something unusual and wonder what it is.
They don’t have much in the way of brains
Adapting in the dark, I don’t imagine they see visually all that well, either.
