Ima throw in my mini lecture.

Calling X twitter, or even ex-twitter or xitter just gives musk a claim to validity.

What twitter was is dead. Allowing the name to be used for the abortion that X is just makes X have a nonexistent connection to what little good twitter had.

Twitter is dead. X rose from its corpse like a maggot, only without the redeeming environmental benefits.

It’s X now. Pretending otherwise makes it seem like there’s anything useful left in it when there isn’t.

If you want to fuck with it, try something like musX or whatever that removes the connection to what twitter was.

      I don’t think it makes a difference.

Musk isn’t concerned whether we think X is the same that Twitter was. His whole point was to usurp Twitter’s reach and pervert it to the cause of spewing toxic shit. The old Twitter means nothing to him, just the users do.

And for the most part, the users are the same ones as those of the late Twitter.

So I think calling it ex-twitter, xitter or anything else doesn’t have an impact on anything. My preference to call it Ex-Twitter is mostly just spite.

I call it Twitter for two reasons: 1. “X” is a stupid ass name 2. elongated muskrat apparently hates people calling it “Twitter”.

I agree, calling it Twitter just gives the impression of denial that it’s now X, denial that it’s owned by Elon, denial that it’s now shit (it was shit before, worse now though), and feels like justification for continued use of it.

Just call it X in disgust, and move on to Mastodon or something
