They mean “I made a meme about protecting liberties with violence from the safety of my home, but would never actually act on the claimed beliefs which make me feel self superior to others.”

I don’t know where you are but in America a “liberal progressive” is understood by most of the population to be someone pretty far left. In far left places on the Internet (socialist groups, Marxist groups, anarchist groups) a “liberal” is a person that supports capitalism. So lefties hate liberals.
