I don’t know your vape (I’ve been using Firewoods exclusively for the last few years with nothing but, uh what’s the opposite of complaints I fucking love them) what is it and how do you like it?

The vape shown is the Arizer Air Max. It was the first portable dry herb vape I got. Since then i’ve gotten a couple other kinds of portables but its never become irrelevant to me.

Its a conduction+convection hybrid vape with an all-glass stem pod system. Its portable obviously, powered by a single replacable 18660 battery, and pass-through charges with regular usbc 5v. Most vapes I looked at have a built in battery or proprietary charger so its really nice for longevity.

Heat wise its not the most powerful device even on maximum temp. Its definitely a terp-chasing device that gives a consistent gentle draw of vapor over several minutes instead of cooking the flower instantly to black within three hits like a more powerful vaporizer. That sounds like a negative but honestly its really nice to have a reliable device you can turn on heat up and sesh with and not worry about ever combusting. When im getting over being badly sick and want some vapor this is the only thing gentle enough to hit as genuine medicine. Its JUST powerful enough to vaporize concentrate if you do the cotton ball tek.

It comees with a glass direct draw mouthpiece and a water pipe adapter. Arizer stems are really popular so theres great aftermarket glass support if you want like a custom wood mouthpiece or a bubbler. I have an aftermarket stem, a bubbler, and 3d printed stand. I also put ruby vape balls in the bottom to help collect and distribute heat.

Downsides are that it takes a very long time to preheat if you want to get the most vapor out of it. The all-glass pod filters are small holes that restrict the airflow a lot. Its not powerful enough to do a OHE for big glass water pieces. Its not usbc-pd compatable which is such a dumb thing that annoys me most tbh. Oh and it only stays on 15 minutes gotta keep waking it up which is fair since thats a safety feature which helps the battery not cook too long.

Its cheaper than most higher end vapes you can get it close to 150$ on a good sale. The super powerful portables are like 300$+ for that range id rather get a powerful desktop or finally try a ball vape. Overall its a great compromise between versatility, build quality, and affordability. Im an arizer fan all their devices have held up to my rough daily use over many years. Both my arizer desktops are well well over a decade old now and still work making vapor like they were new.
