It’s not cropped, the original source didn’t have the text in the image. I downloaded the image, uploaded to lemmy, then copy/pasted the text as the body of the post. Otherwise I would’ve needed to screenshot each one, and that would just cause image degradation.

Screenshots don’t have to degrade the image… They’re PNGs by default, aren’t they?
I also think the vast majority of people would rather an imperceptibly degraded but complete image over this pristine image of half a comic.
