Neither of them seem to be running
Neither of them seem to be on fire
looks at my currently open 6 firefox windows
@TabbsTheBat @ickplant it’s 6 windows of single firefox instance
Hey maybe I have firefox as a flatpak, deb, and snap, and im running all 3… That’d be 3 different firefoxes lol
@TabbsTheBat but 3 different versions cannot use single profile at same time
Firefox has profiles? x3
@TabbsTheBat i did not use firefox long time, but usually --ProfileManager allowed to manage profiles. In old firefox android versions (which was xul-based) it was possible to enable profile manager by editing configurations
Fairsies :3
I just can’t imagine for what purposes a browser would need a profile (though tbf at this point I have multiple features purposely disabled on firefox, cause I found them to just be clutter)
It’s good for sync. Walked inside with a video on my phone? Video is better on laptop, so it’ll just open up my phone tab on my laptop.
@TabbsTheBat multiple isolated instances of sites cookies/storages/settings? Yes, you can use conatiners, but creating second profile usually is easier
I use a separate profile for work vs personal stuff
i just use developer edition, which defaults to its own profile, along side the release version. then when i need a third, i use a ‘portable’ one also with its own–which can easily be zipped-up for a backup to revert back to when i’m testing stuff out.
this is, of course, on top of the several derivatives i have installed. i segregate browsers and profiles by use and in a couple cases by specific site or service.
If you compiled firefox 6 times with different directory locations specified (in the code) you could open 6 different instances. It would only take like 10 hours to recompile every update.

Can I open a private Firefox?
