And what does that mean for you?
Edit: can be obscure person, just preference is for examples that can be heard for oneself to sample it
I listen to The Majority Report everyday and I prefer listening to it a day late or at least not live so that I can play it at 1.5 speed as Sam Seder tends to waffle a lot and it is almost at a normal speaking speed when he is speaking 50 percent faster.
I find Adam Booth (abom79 on youtube) talks way too slow for my liking. I usually watch his videos on 2X speed and sometimes still feel like he’s dragging a bit.
I’ve never really heard anyone, of any class, in person or in media, I thought spoke too slow. Plenty that speak way too fast tho. IDK even know why I watch PapaMutt. I cannot understand anything he says 90℅ of the time.
In theory both of these Youtubers are right up my alley, Tibees especially for listening to science stuff to fall asleep to. But for some reason they are too slow and calm. Somehow makes listening to them exhausting.
Werner Herzog speaks slowly, but it’s wonderful.
Any specific reccs?
I’d just pick a documentary that he narrates on a subject you find interesting. I’ve seen more of his post 2000s work, but they all have a certain charm to them.

Umm, everyone? Except for music and movies, I generally listen to spoken content at 1.5x-1.75x speed.
Huh, what does that feel like?
Thanks to Fast Fourier Transform, you can try it in just about every media player or streaming client even on awful hardware. The downside is, realtime content such as TV or in-person lectures feels understimulating now.
I barely use it for anything but spoken word, since physics are way off with 2x-3x the acceleration.
I really like people who speak slow. youtube is severely improved by setting the play speed of certain videos to .98 or .97
On the hand hand I prefer 1.7 or 1.8 for anyone who isn’t already fast as fuck
No you dont 😡
Minimum 0.9 in my opiniok
That’s a lot. Do you watch some people who are speeding their videos up intentionally for Gen Z attention spans? I have a few like that but I still don’t want to take it low enough that the audio starts to chop.
Also do you like longform as a means of disassociating? That adds some decent extra playtime to an essay which is a win-win-win in my book
Shits overproduced and sped up like just for normal. Picture is made bluer and brighter, treble is boosted and speed is increasing over time as the regular standard. Gotta pushback for the good o’ yer health
didn’t realize the speed was increasing throughout the duration. fuuck that’s shitty. for real, my attention span is bad enough without videos I watch trying to Cocomelon me.
I mean over time like years the “standards” for things are accelerated to amp up people’s production and work and attention
😬
