Why didn’t you lubricate your doors and windows?

I’m not sure how to do it. Seriously, the windows screech when I open and close them, but I’ve never taken the time to figure out how to disassemble them to clean and lube them. It’s on my list of things I need to do. Also, I have two windows in my living room blocked off with panels, and I discovered last summer that one of them has a cracked pane, so I need to take care of that, too.

Doors are easy, and I take care of them so they don’t squeak, and last year I repaired and painted the exterior door jambs.

The squeaky hinge gets the grease. I actually do if I notice one is noisy. WD40 silicone lubricant, which is actually a lubricant unlike regular WD40. (Other products are available)
