The Chinese Defense Minister in a letter to the Trump administration and the US Navy:

I hope this is something the PRC said, and I cannot rule it out, but that is a little more confrentational than the PRC tends to act. If this is what happened it is a big deal

It’s absolutely fake. This is so outlandishly outside of what China would do. The US would have to actual board and take a Chinese ship for them to even consider anything more then a strongly worded letter.
The moment I saw it, I tried looking for the source as well but nothing online. Guess it’s fake, but for a moment, I thought a major escalation was coming
