🇺🇸| CENTCOM has requested the deployment of hypersonic missiles in the Middle East for potential use against Iran — Bloomberg
The request argues that Iran has moved its missile launchers beyond the range of the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM), which is capable of targeting objectives over 500 kilometers away.
If approved, the deployment of the Army’s Dark Eagle would be the first time the US has operationally used a hypersonic missile in real combat, although a final decision has not yet been made.
This missile, primarily developed to counter advanced air defenses in China and Russia, costs about $15 million each, and the latest available data shows that only 8 missiles were produced, mean it’s technically in the testing phase.
