My point is that neither are they Syrian anarchists, nor do they represent any major group of anarchists in Syria. Don’t get me wrong; I apriaciate their gesture, even if it was ill advised in the local context. But its been years and people who see that for the first time might have no context whatsoever for the photo.

I vaguely remember those issues too, but not exactly what it was. Just that they stopped using those flags.
