I’m more concerned about the fucking parasites that may or may not be in it since we can’t trust the government to not Taylor Farms us with the diarhea lettuce do-over.

Someone donates to a soggy Cheeto’s PAC and all of a sudden it’s all good, they didn’t just poison thousands of you, nothing to see here!

Meh that seems about the right price for a rib eye, although that does look like big supermarket rib eye rather than butcher rib eye so should be a bit cheaper …

I seriously doubt it. Those prices are low when compared whith my own country’s and we have a lot less buying power. Some cuts incresead price by 126% in a year.

Most people have cut back on beef and opted for other meats and, fortunately, are going back to the traditional cuisine, which is heavily reliant on vegetables, grains and legumes, with cheaper meat supplementing the diet.

Americans will not give up meat anytime soon. It is culturally significant, as I imagine it is in many countries. We will probably go to lab grown meat when it gets good enough and cheap enough.

That was the case a few years ago. The industry has developed and already uses alternatives. The fetal serum would have been too expensive for commercial use either way.

We still don’t know how expensive the whole process will be though, it will certainly be a luxury item for quite some time, while the current plant-based meat is slowly becoming cheaper than real meat.
