I made this. You pick salvage sites across a map and decide each time whether to cash out or push your luck for more. Runs in the browser, no signup, no ads.
If you have the Fixer perk that lowers the kit cost to $120, the button text updates properly but the details still say “$200 out of the bag. Eight points better odds at the next site, and only the next one.”
Pretty cool and a little bit addicting. Lack of content beyond the runs gets old fast though.
thanks, really appreciate you playing. that’s fair, right now each run stands alone apart from the seasons. what would keep you coming back, unlocks, a longer campaign, something to build at camp?
The last point probably would work wonders! The setting is interesting enough that something like building would probably be great for longevity and coming back. Perhaps purchasing permanent smaller perks when you get scraps for yourself, or that could work via the camp building too. I could imagine some sort of rpg aspect too, since we already do kind of role play the runs and make choices within one.
I’m not sure what you intend or want this game to be, though. For what it is, the actual concept of runs is great, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so well designed tightly scoped loop in this kind of setting and flavor. There’s just little reason to do the runs, for a player like me at the very least, and it feels like you start from zero each time and just repeat yourself. Progress or some sort of tangible benefit from succeeding well would be nice.
I honestly just clicked the link in my feed and did a few seasons, I didn’t catch any bigger meaning or intent here, if it was described somewhere. So these are just from the pov of someone who doesn’t know what it is and not really sure what for either. But liked the loop enough to share their experiences
this is really useful, thank you. “start from zero each time” is the gap for sure. a camp you build up from what you bring home is next on my list :)
Idk if you know about it or not, but you may want to check a game called Loop Hero it has a similar camp you return to and build between runs
This is really well made. I can see myself doing a few runs a day.
Fun!
