There is absolutely no way of knowing my actual oldest file though as Im I’m a bit of a data hoarder. Aside from a loss of my entire RAID array 20+ years ago, I still have backups from all my old PCs. I have more of a set of data that I move around from machine to machine; hardware is temporary. Up to 27TB or so at this point, but more than half is my ripped dvd/bluray collection.

I have files that date back to the 60’s, but they are either copied from someone else, or some app misdated them at one point (more likely).

I just got off my flight to Mexico. I have no idea if I’m getting home. It wasn’t a dealbreaker for the trip…

Of course he can’t. He knows that. This was 100% optics, so he can go down in history as the worlds first trillionaire. Here’s my conspiracy brain take. With turnips rapidly declining health, they know they need the next puppet to take his place. J.V. dunce is all they’ve got but his wife will never be accepted by the cult. So, this kirk shit happens and all of the sudden they have an already cult approved stepford wife, complete with a perfect sympathy story for cover (‘he was helping me with my grief and it just happened like it was meant to be from god!’).

An armed minority is harder to oppress

The oppressors will always have better weapons. The best way to lose a fight is to be overconfident. A smart and organized minority is even harder to oppress.

In nearly 50 years I’ve never been anywhere else close to a knife fight, I’m also not a moron.

The situation I’m talking about is home defense and yes, I have dogs, I live in one of the safest areas of my state and I do have self defense plans if anything does happen. Guns are not part of that strategy because I have kids in the house, and despite them being trained, I still am not going to keep one around just so that I can ‘feel’ safer.

You do you, I’m not going to stop you, even if I were anti-gun, the ship sailed long before I was born in this country. So instead, since they are a reality in the US, let’s be smart about them and recognize that individual situations are different for each of us.

Yeah, I’m not anti-gun, I just follow the stats. Multiple children in the house and they are more clever than I am.

I’m still not willing to get one. I am statistically safer without one in the house. I do have a couple large dogs, I collect knives and I have collapsible batons stashed in key locations.

Maybe once the kids are out of the house.

The problem is, masculinity has been turned into a performative art these days. To the culture obsessed with masculinity, you have to fall in line, wear the clothes, support the right people…. What they don’t get is that this is the least masculine behavior possible.

Seriously, look at the “masculine” types, they all are groomed, their trucks are all spotless, they go to work and sit in the same chairs as the rest of us; but think their fascist adjacent clothing makes them look tough. I see nothing but insecure manchildren.

I admit, it almost worked on me. I was a little scared to go, and I left my phone and identifying information at home. I also brought a 360 degree camera in case shit happened, figured I’d have a better chance of getting it on camera.

But instead it was a massive party, just fun people, hilarious signs and a truly pleasant and enjoyable walk through the city. It really helped break some of my cynicism; some, not all.

I can’t wait for the next one.

Just leaving MPLS, huge turnout. We were near the front of the March. Made it all the way around and back to the beginning and folks were still lined up to even start.

I am less cynical right now than I was earlier today.
