  • Got to disagree with you on this.

This might be a regional thing, but in Europe, my copy of Simcity 3000 (purchased in 1999) included a trailer that looked closer to the one I posted (I am going from memory). It was definitely not the one you linked.

The trailer was definitely available before The Sims 1 was released in 2000.

This youtube video of my OP video states that:

Trailer video (TheSims.mpg) came from the “demos” folder from SIM Theme Park installation CD.

Sim Theme Park was released in 1999.

  • You’re not missing anything. Heavy modding of older games PC can be a pain in the ass.

You can usually find a somewhat coherent and structured guide that will give you a step by step process, but will still be time-consuming (and there will likely be exceptions or outdated information).

The best option is to keep mods to minimum unless you know what you are doing and it’s a game that you play on a permanent basis.

  • I can’t imagine many people who haven’t tried Final Fantasy are going to play this. This seems like a game for super fans only.

FWIW, the last FF game I tried was FF7 in the early 2000s. Bounced off of it in ~40 minutes. I had only played cRPGs and I never really tried any JRPGs (nothing wrong with them, they just not for me).

That being said, I am actually considering trying the original FF7 with mods one of these days.
