I’m an American living in Central Europe. I make less money here than I did in the States. I have a lot more money than I did in the States.

Modern European buildings are handicapped accessible. What they don’t do is tear down old buildings for the benefit of a few disabled people. Or make it so expensive to reuse old buildings that they fall into neglect. Before you go there, I do have a disability but not a mobility problem.

This is exactly what it is for so many. Some take it further: you made us hurt, now it’s your turn to hurt. These ones know Trump is a conman but they want everyone who moved to a suburb somewhere to pay for what’s happened to rural areas.

I have experience in this. The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled on it. If it’s open comment time, they cannot censor except for obscene or threatening speech. All they can do is set a time limit. Don’t cuss or make violent threats and you’re good. If they censor you it’s an open and shut civil rights case.

If it’s a public hearing for a specific matter, they can restrict comment to that topic.

A city council in the U.S. does not have to allow a general public comment time. Perhaps there are some states where it is required.

They can also allow public comment only as part of a hearing on a specific matter. Most states require this.

HOWEVER, if they allow an open public comment they cannot censor it.

I have no recent experience with Southern Baptists but twenty years ago the rule was, women cannot teach the Bible to men. It wasn’t common but it was tolerable for women to be a music leader. Women could teach and counsel other women. Women could teach children. Women could teach men anything that was not the Bible or derived from it. If the church had a food pantry or a crisis pregnancy center, women could run it and give orders to men who worked there, except on any matter touching religious doctrine.
