Which just means we need to make it harder on companies to placate these loud pieces of shit.
He/They. Trying out some different instances. If you see this handle on another instance, it’s probably me, unless someone else also stole it from Campaign: Skyjacks.
Which just means we need to make it harder on companies to placate these loud pieces of shit.
Oh, I’m definitely not saying that there had to be intention behind it. After all, it’s a consequence I never thought of, so I’m sure whoever made that decision at Spotify never did either. But then, they’re supposed to be paid to think of consequences like this.
I guess the question is, if a decision screws disabled people in the pursuit of more money, does it really matter if the disabled people were deliberately targeted, or if they’re just collateral damage?
I don’t know. If we were talking about Netflix making captions a premium feature that requires an extra fee, I’d think that’s pretty skeevy and ableist. I hadn’t thought about lyric sheets being an accommodation until OP brought it up, but now that they did, I’m kind of putting it in the same bucket.
Sure, but if that’s causing a difference in access for people with a disability like OP, then that becomes an ADA issue.
Because it improves the experience, but isn’t vital to it. If you want the free tier to be accessible to everyone, limiting things like lyrics that people like OP use as a disability accommodation isn’t the way to do it.
Where’d you get that idea? And what made you think Warren would be worse than Trump?
Yeah, I wasn’t a fan of R-Money, but at least he was just an out-of-touch rich asshole, and not a straight up narcissistic fascist.
Not sure why Elizabeth Warren would take over or why we’d all be fucked with her as president. Did you somehow confuse Warren with Kamala Harris?
Also not sure how we’d be fucked worse with Harris than with Trump, if that is what you meant. The list of people who’d be worse than Trump is exceedingly short.
Album art would make way more sense as a paid feature than lyrics, considering it’s a largely cosmetic improvement.
They’re complaining that one of the things the limited free plan takes away is something they were using to accommodate their disability.
I killed my Spotify account when they started shoveling millions of dollars at Joe Rogan, and everything they’ve done since then only confirms I made the right call.
Because everyone knows Covid can’t spread at protests.
Fortunately, no. He did his time in the late 80s.
Hey, it worked for Ukraine.
Yes, hand the executive branch to the guy who attempted a coup to stay in power last time, backed by the Project 2025 guys, and come back in 4 years for the election that will surely still actually take place. Sure. Great plan.
Well, yeah, I agree in that sense. I just meant that, if Biden dropped out, there would be a bunch of Democratic electors who would be uncommitted. As opposed to if someone dropped out after being elected to Senate or the like, which would probably lead to the government appointing a temporary replacement and scheduling a special election.
You’re preaching to the choir here. If I could throw Biden out and replace him with, I don’t know, Sanders or AOC or someone, I would in a heartbeat.
I agree with you. Trump is, unfortunately, on track to win. And if Trump wins, the death of American democracy is imminent, and none of us are going to like what’s next.
The problem is, if Trump wins, there likely won’t be a next time. He’s out there saying as much on the campaign trail, and he’s tried it before.
Technically, that only really applies for the Presidential election, largely because of the Electoral College. But still, you should never vote for any Republicans anyway, because even affiliating with that den of snakes at this point tells you all you need to know about that candidate.
What media have you been looking at? The only thing I’ve seen about Biden for months has been about how he’s too old. And occasionally a bit about him supporting Israel, whether that’s presented in a positive or negative light.
