Might be time to make more browser games again. Doesn’t have to be complex. Ohhh… If you get some old flash games, those might even run fairly well on a pi zero. And when they ban non ID verified internet we can trade games on SD cards.

For £500 you are doing a lot more than pong. I am kinda curious how far back you have to go at different price points to play the majority of games from that era. Pretty sure £500 is still doing a lot of games 10+ years old.

Retro gaming on a Pi comes in at £50 or so, depends on which one you get though as more RAM does cost more. Downside here is ARM might limit your options a bit for some things not quite so old but it probably would otherwise be powerful enough for. Box86 + wine exists but that looks too much like 2010 Linux gaming that I would rather leave in the past. Some open source games could be compiled on it too.

Pi Zero could run a few games too and that is like £15. But your choices are going to be very limited for anything beyond retro gaming. CDDA should compile and technically run, slowly. Got a pinephone which has similar specs and can do it but compiling takes about an hour and I found out the game had loading screens I wasn’t even aware of before trying to run it on specs like that.

Just a bit of gentle war with Iran at first. Its not us, its the Americans that are bombing schools. We are just providing airbases for them to do it.

The correct way to treat a twitch tab

Sounds like something browsers should have an option to prevent. Or just don’t use twitch in the first place.

Omg… You would have to verify every single VM. Would docker images count or not? Might be enough to push me to properly work out how to use that instead of VMs…

And what about all the operating systems that already exist and are no longer maintained? Who is responsible for that. Microslop gotta update Win95 to add age verification?

My point was that HR will replace some of the workload, and remove more of the workers. Then those remaining get lumped with an even greater workload than they had before.

“We are not replacing anyones job, this is just saving time” is something we keep hearing at work, if its saving time that means fewer people are required. I am sure it won’t replace 100% of any 1 persons entire workload any time soon, but if it replaced 20% of 10 peoples workload, HR will make 4 of those people redundant and spread their tasks among the 6 remaining now increasingly overworked employees.

TIL my idea of casual is actually ultra casual. That is pretty much what I wear at work in summer. In winter I would switch to trousers and add a jumper.

Heat pumps exist now and they are great, got one a few years ago when buying my first house. Uses something like 2000-3000kWh (£500-750) per year for all heating and hot water. Hard to say exactly because the shower was electric when we moved in and it was later that we switched it over to use the hot water from the heat pump.

I will be glad it’s just the US taxpayers that will pay for this mess this time if that is the case. You make this mess, you pay for it. Maybe you could have voted for someone that would regulate the markets a bit better.

I have games that will run on a pi, maybe even a pi zero and use the cheapest second hand tablet as a display. Or a fire stick/similar and use the TV if I can get Termux on it?
