I went out there today from Sydenham in the afternoon. The short distance between stations makes a difference to the overall speed (doesn’t seem as fast as on the other parts of the line.

The biggest head scratcher is the way the two Bankstown stations are split apart. Why not have the Metro and Trains on the same platforms a la Chatswood?

Still, glad to have the Bankstown line back after so long. I didn’t swap to the T6 and go to Lidcombe, but will do soon.

She was a known author though. Her biography of Hawke was on so many shelves in homes you visited in the 1980s. And I remember studying Turtle Beach as part of an Australian Literature unit at UNSW in the 1990s. Like, she was a serious author. But of course popularly she was just the ‘other woman’ who broke up the Bob/Hazel marriage.

Because they don’t make outrageous claims. Because they don’t promise completely undeliverable outcomes. Because they don’t blame thy neighbour for all your problems. In short, because they’re too rational.
