The Long Dark
The Long Dark
I’m planning on getting some recertified Seagate Ironwolfs from SeverPartDeals very soon
GPLs “restrictions” are freedom preserving though. It only restricts developers from keeping dirivitive code proprietary. In order to violate the GPL you’d have to choose to use GPL code and then choose not to release your modified versions of it under a similar copyleft license. It may seem counterintuitive, but having those restrictions results in more software freedom overall - similar to the paradox of intolerance.
I’m not saying MIT or so called permissive licenses are bad, but the permissive/restrictive language is just as loaded as the OPs suggestions. Both styles are needed, but copyleft licenses are better at promoting software freedom.
Edit: I do agree with you that LGPL serves an important role in promoting free/libre software where it would otherwise would never be used.
Um… Its not ironic at all? Mozilla has been active and well regarded in privacy oriented spaces for many years.
My local library system does 10 pages free per day.
It’s not just about the content posted by individuals though. The community and relationships built on a centralized platform are also at risk to a much greater degree than they would be on federated social media.
It’s also supposed to make up for lost tax revenue on fuel, which would (theoretically) go to road maintenance.
The argument could be made, yes. Until DFV had this level of celebrity he was just a guy doing live streams about his wild investment ideas. That’s totally legal, but I’d bet he’s wading through murkier waters now though.
I’ve been using Librera FD. Not sure if it meets all of your needs, but it can be integrated with a Calibre server at least to grab your books from another machine. I haven’t bothered to see if it will sync what page you’re on though.
Well since nobody can name a tracker with any AV1 content, I will for anyone finding this post in the future.
As mentioned in the OP, LST.gg has an uploader, KIMJI, who encodes western cartoons, TV, and movies in 1080p AV1. I personally love the quality and file size of his encodes. There’s some other AV1 content there as well. Several WhiskeyJack encodes have been uploaded, although I don’t know where they originate.
I really wish I knew where to find anime in AV1 still.
I love KIMJI encodes.
Yea I’ve heard that grain synthesis can be tough to get right with AV1. I’ve seen people (that know much more than me) talk about ways to make it better though.
I think Av1an gets better results.
I do think that’s why people like it more for cartoons and anime.
Any release groups you see consistently?
I’m well aware of the tradeoffs. Besides, encodes of remuxes and full disks can easily be better quality than web-dls, and with av1 or HEVC can be smaller file size too.
Mostly I use custom launchers because I don’t like the Google News feed and the general UI layout of the stock launcher. KISS launcher has been perfect for me.
How would you get through the install though? Are there any simple solutions without any graphics output?
What if I’ve never built a headless system and am afraid of not having easy access to a GUI?
MAM is a private torrent tracker with tons of ebooks. They definitely have a lot of magazines, but maybe not the most expansive collection around. They do interviews to join regularly.
Mastodon is easily the largest decentralized social network. Idk what you’re on about.
It does, but honestly its more stable for me with proton. At least it used to be I haven’t tried the native version in several years
