I’m a genX dude, living in a genZ world. I love everyone. Be gay, be trans, be whatever. I love everyone until an individual proves they don’t deserve it. I don’t hate anyone based on groups, I hate people who are assholes.

  • When my wife and I got our first apartment, it was a tiny studio. 15’x12’. But, as our family grew, we needed more space to accommodate the kids. We currently have 13 people in our household, and we built another extension on our house to bring it to 14 bedrooms. Sometimes I miss the simplicity of that tiny studio. Being able to clean our entire living space in like 20 minutes was pretty great. But the tradeoff of having enough space to build a big family is worth it IMO. If my life had gone differently, and I was just a single dude, or if my wife and I had decided to go the DINK route, I’d be fine in a tiny home.

But it was really nice being able to open my home to my niece when my sister went to prison and my niece had nowhere to go. When my oldest son’s marriage imploded and he needed to move back home (with his kids in tow), it was nice to have the space to host them. I try to always have an empty room in case someone I love is in a bad situation. Couldn’t really do that in a tiny home.

I also host most big family events, like Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July and whatnot. I have a HUGE extended family, and we generally have ~50 guests in addition to our own household. Trying to host 50 guests in a tiny home would be impossible. Trying to cook enough food in a tiny kitchen would be an insane endeavor. Not to mention the idea of all those people trying to share one tiny bathroom.

CHS is 100% a real thing, my wife has it. If she smokes more than a bowl a week, she will scromit. She developed CHS about 18 months after she first started smoking with me. I’ve been smoking for about 40 years, and I’ve never developed CHS. We’re not sure exactly why some people get it and some people don’t, but it is a real phenomenon that can happen to some cannabis users.

I’m pro-weed, pro-legalization, and generally in favor of personal freedom. But pot is not for everyone. It makes my wife incredibly sick. My (adult) daughter gets panic attacks from smoking pot, so she abstains.

Speaking from personal experience, I live in PA and I have a medical card (which is incredibly easy to get FWIW). I only buy lab tested dispensary bud. My wife developed CHS smoking with me. I did not develop CHS, and we were smoking the exact same product.

It’s probably different for different people. I smoke a fat bowl every morning, and sometimes a second one at night, and I’m fine. I’ve been smoking for about 40 years. My wife was smoking a gram or two a day for roughly 18 months, and she developed CHS. She took a month long t-break, and the symptoms went away. Now, if she smokes more than once a week, they come back, so she only smokes with me on Monday nights.

  • It’s a server I created for my Guild Wars 2 guild. Most of us have been playing the game for 10+ years, so when I started the server, we already had a small pool of members built in. My guild grew to the point that we needed to make a second guild, since we hit the player limit ingame. Then we needed to make another guild for the same reason, and so on. I currently control 8 guilds ingame, between my two main accounts (each account can be in a total of 6 guilds, so I have to switch to my alt account to run the other two guilds).

We are mainly focused on training new players on how to succeed in Raid encouters, Dungeons, and other PVE content. So we get a lot of new people joining the guild/server to learn. We don’t require people to join our guild to play with us or join our discord server, sometimes we run with PUGs (MMORPG speak for strangers) in our Raid party, and when we do we send them the link to join our server, since voice chat makes it easier to communicate quickly. Once they’re a member of the server, they usually stay, though some leave the server once we are done with the Raid.

I also get approached by new-ish players ingame, because they see the guild tag above my head and know our reputation for helping newbies. So I invite them to the server/guild if they want some guidance.

We started out with 34 people, and as of last night, we have 616 members. We’ve had a few people leave, and I’ve had to ban a few people for behavioral issues (we do not tolerate any -ism or -phobia in our space). But we’ve grown a lot, and built a positive and supportive community along the way. We’ve even had a few IRL meetups for folks who are able to attend. The last one was in Vegas, and 41 people showed up. We had a blast.
