ooooh … you know what, maybe i’ll avoid highways and stick to roads with 30 mph speed limits, too, actually. i drive a hybrid so it might be pretty chill and cost next to nothing.

it’s more like, “if I don’t, the psycho behind me will gut me like a fish and then fashion my skin into an extremely ineffective shower curtain”
yeah i know that he shouldn’t do that because it’s illegal, but the world is full of highly principled corpses and there are people who are depending on me to be alive.
at least i get to cruise slow and steady when there happens to be no one else behind me… and what’s wild is, ever since i grew the fuck up and stopped being a speeder piece of shit, i hardly ever encounter traffic jams anymore, and i don’t seem to get where i’m going any later than i would have otherwise.
You know what else we also didn’t poison ourselves with at anywhere NEARLY as high a level as boomers did? Lead.
funny how literally the only thing i consistently see AI being useful for is the pointless bullshit tasks that don’t accomplish anything but the further complication of shit that didn’t need to be so complicated in the first place. such as busywork. They’re jerking us around to waste our time so i see no reason to treat their time as though it’s particularly valuable either; turnabout is fair play, after all.
‘hey losers. looks like you need shit to get done. hire me or stay sucking. peace out’
(actually i’m contemplating falsely applying to jobs i have no intention of actually seeking and literally using this as my cover letter just to see if anything funny happens…)
(i like the job i already have)
… wow i did not expect to see something this relatable ._.
it will never not irk me the way that neurotypicals will ask a question about something when they literally do not WANT an answer–because if you try to answer their question they accuse you of ‘making excuses’.
what they REALLY mean is “I hate that, I don’t want it to be that way. I don’t want you to tell me why it is, I want to lead you to changing your mind by making you rethink it so you might understand why I think it shouldn’t be like that”
they’re so gods damned self-entitled.

HRT for gaming handhelds be like

and STAY out.
i miss notepad plus plus, that’s pretty much the only thing i wish i still had from before linux though.

I hope the slate truck does phenomenally well for several reasons, but one of them is most certainly to spank the fuck out of these shit-ass manufacturers who want to gaslight us into thinking screens were ever a good fucking idea for an automotive interface.
aaaaaaaaahhh i LOVE living within 2 miles of my job <3
it’s so beautifully convenient!
“Holy cow, well, good thing you’re a manager! Manage it.”

some MildLad out there made a Calling Card persona-5 style, as if from the phantom thieves of hearts themselves, directed at Hideaki Nishino, the president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment himself.
i’m not saying something is gonna happen
but i am saying that if something did ever end up happening…
it would be really funny
;3
edit: i dunno if posting a discord CDN link will work but i’ll see if i can attach it…

given the choice between the benign tumor and the malignant tumor, one is better off with the benign one. refusing to choose just hands it to the malignant tumor by default. furthermore, it’s not about supporting the lesser of two evils but identifying which evil is the worst overall and focusing everything you have on punishing it. refraining from punishing evil is, surprise surprise, AN EVIL ACT

making a list of undesirables to disenfranchise is a rather alarmingly faschy thing to do >.>; just sayin’…
i’ve been mulling it over and it creeps me out more and more. all too easily, a misplaced sense of self-importance in a principal administrative figure can spoil like milk forgotten in a hot car. I’ve seen this sort of thing happen PERSONALLY.
Someone I had known became the big fish in their small pond. They began systematically ejecting and excommunicating anyone who didn’t agree with them. Eventually the only people left in their circle were exclusively yes-men who did not DARE to challenge or question anything–lest they were to dispose of said yes-men too. Yes-men incentivized to say ‘yes’ to, and thereby condone, and then encourage, increasingly outrageous and deranged impulses.
The first domino has fallen over and struck the second, which is now tilting past any point of equilibrium. For a while longer, everything will be fine; the people who ingratiate themselves will be selectively immune from the same criticisms that get others blanket-‘disappeared’… so hey, one might enjoy using that frontend for now…
…but I implore mindfulness and wariness. Very seldom do I see someone cross the first line without crossing the rest of them eventually. It’s not impossible, but it’s far from common. Anyone still using that frontend, if they start seeing “a certain kind of person” being bolstered exceptionally at the expense of everyone else, it’s time to bail.
While it’s not my place to dictate what the tesseract dev does, I do recall reading that they specifically were feeling dissatisfied with the work, and disappointed by the way their users were acting, and had been considering abandoning the project. While I can’t speak for this developer, obviously, I can’t help but imagine myself in their position… and on that basis I for one believe I would have sooner relinquished the project and walked away entirely rather than see myself turn it into a tool of targeted harassment and marginalization With A Cheerful Coat Of Paint.
…
it’s just setting off my alarm bells real bad. This looks too much like other abusive shit i’ve been through over the decades.
but eh. maybe i’m just paranoid… grain of salt, mileage may vary, et cetera.
Wow. I had no idea this was going on. Well…
If the author of the code, who was distributing it for free, wants to pick and choose who gets to run said code, then one is welcome to a refund of $0.00, I guess.
…y’know, I feel like, hypothetically, if I made a list of ‘bad people’ and used it to control access to software made available to the general public, that would put me in a fair bit of hot water. If it doesn’t count as targeted harassment, it still creates a literal set of targeting data that anyone else can pick up and harass.
But one way or another, i don’t think it’s very constructive for me to to continue to exist within the vicinity of someone who hates me. even vicariously through their code. just kinda stings is all…

Ah, so you actually saw that before I decided to that my profile is better off without such filthy language in it and deleted it?
Well, in that case,
Good.
nailed it <3
but that’s aspirational at this point; right now I’m due-diligence jumping through hoops that my doctor keeps putting in my way to gatekeep me from transitioning. honestly though, i really did need to lose all this weight. i’ve recently surpassed a hundred pounds down, but i’m still at least 125 more away from a healthy enough condition to put my foot down.
it’s gonna be rather compelling and demonstrative of this not being a fleeting ephemeral whim that only arose ‘just recently’ when I can look a doctor in the eye and state with total honesty,
“I have dedicated several years of persistent effort to drag my weight down into a healthy range specifically because I promised myself that I would pursue a gender transition if i made it. I have lost more than my entire current body weight specifically in pursuit of this goal. If you try to tell me after all of that, that all my effort toward this exact goal was for naught, The Result Of Your Decision Shall Be Very ‘Unhealthy’ For Me, DOCTOR.”
originally i wanted to write that we didn’t have lead exposure, but …
Flint Michigan. and that’s actually not even the worst municipal water system by far. That’s merely the one that got a little more publicity than most.
It’s nice that we don’t have fumes from leaded gasoline, generally speaking–that it’s no longer the standard and most household sector products that use fuel don’t take leaded gasoline.
