Came in to recommend CrossCode. I had an extremely similar itch to OP and this game scratched it. The plot literally revolves around being an MMO, but the entirely game is single player. They did a really good job of capturing the vibe.

Going by Steam Survey, I think the PS5 is more powerful than the majority of gaming PCs. Most people aren’t rocking 5090s with peak CPUs.

I literally avoid anything on Steam that isn’t buying a game or launching a game because everywhere else I’ve strayed, I see bigoted shit.

Eeeeevery once in a while I’ll peek into a game I like’s discussion forum and almost without fail I find some bigoted stuff on the front page. Same deal with update/news post comments.

There was just an article about Godot being swamped by AI vibe code so I don’t know if I’d hold my breath.

I switched to Gamers Nexus a few years ago and really liked the format versus what I was mostly watching at the time, which was largely but not only LTT.

I have pretty much entirely stopped watching Gamers Nexus now though. Even if I agree with a lot of what he says, the way in which he says it has gone from cathartic to too much. I’m not entirely sure when, but it’s past the point of enjoyment for me.

Well, I’m an atheist, so frankly I find deifying anyone weird. I just find it particularly weird to deify a billionaire. And I never said that his billionaire status is why he’s deified, nor does it change my original sentiment: it’s weird to deify a billionaire (implied: irrespective of what else they’ve done).

I use and like Steam. Still think Gabe doesn’t deserve a billion dollars. No one does. Not while people are starving and homeless.
