  • This is getting stupid … every Gaza headline is becoming the same … more crisis for Gaza and Israel continues siege, operations, attacks, hits, bombings, movements

When is the world going to get shocked or surprised by all this … when Israel starts using flame throwers, beating people with hammers, and poking their eyes out?

This isn’t an Israeli problem … it’s a world problem … between Israel and the US just doing whatever they want without any responsibility or being held accountable for anything … why they hell do we pretend that there is any kind of international rule of law?

The more headlines I see like this everyday … makes me think that there is no such thing as a United Nations … it’s a nice organization that makes everyone feel good but it has not function other than to assemble a bunch of politicians and representatives in fancy offices to do absolutely nothing.

or it was purposeful to feed the public another thread of distraction that we can all entangle ourselves with for the next few months.

At this point, the controversy is not Trump … the controversy is the American government, the American media and the American public just rolling over another chapter of this absolute stupidity.

lol … I had this kind of argument with my wife for years.

She kept buying the smallest bottles of dish washing liquid for years … if it was smaller, to her it was much cheaper. I kept telling her that the price for the small bottle was more expensive per liter of liquid compared to buying it all in bulk.

I kept telling her that if you just bought one giant bottle for the best price when it went on sale, you’d end up buying more liquid and saving money over time. I’d buy a big huge bottle every year or so and it would last us months, then she’d revert to buying small bottles again.

Eventually, she realized that it was cheaper in the long run to buying big bottles … mostly because when you bought one giant bottle, you’d forget the problem altogether for about six months or even a year.

  • We did a little tour on our own into Germany one spring, about 20 years ago. It was only a few days, we didn’t have much money and we absolutely didn’t know what we were doing. We rented a car and just started wandering. It was just at the point of technology where GPS was still new. We didn’t have any so we just started driving with a shitty map and no clue.

We had done some traveling in other countries before and we had met several famously obnoxious German tourists. We had partly expected to meet equally arrogant Germans in their home country.

Instead we met the most open, kind hearted, brilliant people ever. Everywhere we stopped, we’d meet three or four locals who were more than happy to give directions, recommend restaurants, bars, tea shops and sites to see.

At one point we met a truck driver who gave us a ton of information and showed us a driving route on a big format ringed binder map book. When he was done talking, he left the book. We told him he was forgetting his book and he said we could have it as it had detailed updated map info of the entire country. It was an expensive book and I knew it, so I told him not to give it away. He insisted and said he didn’t mind.

I still have that map book on my shelf and whenever I see it, I think of that trip and all those people we met.

    Totally loved Germany after that.

    It’s not a racial thing … it’s a money and wealth thing

If blacks had a bunch of billionaires and owned majority wealth in the world and had easy access and control of the largest military in the world … then racial profiling according to skin colour would be a lot different

It’s about the money … it’s always about the money

  • This is the same shit that happened with big tobacco and it sent lung cancer rates soaring in the 80s and 90s.

The same thing is going to happen this time around … except the lung cancer won’t affect humans … the planet is going to be the one to deal with global lung cancer … and in case you didn’t understand the analogy - WE are the cancer cells … we grow exponentially without regard to our host and continue growing, consuming and generating toxins, even though we know its killing our host.

One of us will either have to die or change … I’m not worried about the earth because she’s been through far worse than us before and survived, so she won’t die and she won’t change because she doesn’t have to, all she has to do is wait … which leaves us -> if we don’t change, then we will die.

  • In 2000, at around the point when most well off people were transitioning to flat panel TVs, I inherited a large 32" CRT from a friend of mine. They were upgrading and wanted to get rid of their old CRT.

I said I’d take it and use it for my treadmill so I could watch TV while I walked.

The thing weighed 100lbs!!! I had to build a reinforced stand to lift it up in the air and I nearly killed myself hoisting it up and having it nearly fall on me multiple times! And the thing took up so much room … I think it occupied almost the same amount of floor space as the treadmill.

The dangerous thing about these things is that they were big and lopsided … it’s like lifting a huge kettle ball but all the weight of the ball is only on one side and the rest of it is empty air. It was really easy to just drop the thing because you lost balance with it. Or even worse, throw your back and some muscle because you were trying to save it from falling over while you held it.
