Also fixes the teleport to your chair from any distance (within viewing distance though) using the repair tool)
They haven’t fixed clipping into the ceiling to teleport out of caves though :)
Definitely worth waiting for reviews, but I’m sure they’ll come out soon.
FWIW all mtx will be cosmetics only, with the good news that there’s no restrictions on mods changing how you look. Their EULA also disallows any pay-to-win mtx in servers similar to Minecraft.
The lead dev backtracked on paid mods (at least for now), saying he’s looking into having quick access to donating instead. I wouldn’t say it’s anything near Roblox territory.
Their refund policy allows refunds if bought in less than 14 days and played less than 4 hours: https://support.hytale.com/hc/en-us/articles/45119888587163-Refund-Policy-and-Available-Payment-Methods

Yeah nobody in this thread went past the title, but that’s literally not what he said.
He actually said that demanding X remove AI features is gatekeeping since competitors get to keep them, which is still a dumb take but very very far from “Tim Sweeny loves child porn”…

Ehh, if you haven’t gotten into it this far then I’d suggest waiting until release. Deadlock is still incomplete and has such radical balance changes each update that it’s hard to tell what’s going on. Most of the people playing right now have been playing since early access started, so you’ll have a hard time finding players that are bad at it for now.

Good call on removing it. Playing as Ashley sounds cool on paper but the missions where you played as her were pretty boring. So much running and waiting for the enemy to slowly walk away for 30 seconds. Resident Evil isn’t known for its stealth missions.

“Somehow, Heihachi returned…”

The compatibility layer has had significant improvements, most apps work fine now not to mention Valve’s compatibility layer for ARM making games work. The Snapdragon laptops mostly flopped so you often see them on discount for $600 as opposed to the $1200+ they were introduced as. I think they have a good chance to be taken seriously.

Many people want to stay on Windows though. The problem with ARM windows laptops was the garbage marketing, overpriced laptops, and bad compatibility layer. That’s all been more or less fixed, so I think the next-gen ARM chips will be big.

Great game if someone hasn’t played it yet. It’s basically just a modern Castlevania Aria of Sorrow by the same lead dev, and it is a bit janky, but there’s a ton of content and a lot to love. I’m looking forward to the sequel.

Alright I know people rag on Epic all the time… but it’s truly incredible how hard they keep dropping the ball. It’s been SEVEN YEARS since it was created and it still feels so basic and terrible to use.
The store is drab and uses huge chunks of space just to advertise fortnite and f2p rewards. Discovery is terrible and the store is full of crypto scams and AI spam shovelware, which is ironic because Epic started off being very selective about what’s allowed to be published there. The store also feels like adware because it keeps spamming random notifications and ads unless you turn it off.
The best part is that Epic constantly blames users for not wanting to leave Steam instead of admitting their store sucks. They keep spending tens of millions buying exclusives and giving away games for free rather than spending any time improving the store. Seriously, what are they doing over there?

Added Abandon Battle option in the pause menu which can now be opened in battle
Finally. No more waiting around to die to reset the fight when you mess up.

Fantastic timing, I just started playing a few days ago and am having a blast!

I wonder what that will do for the sale of the Steam Machine which should (theoretically) get people into PC gaming for much cheaper.
Valve said they won’t subsidise the cost of the Steam Machine, it will be roughly the same price as a regular PC.

Not at all what I expected from the Rogue Legacy devs. It looks like Into the Breach but with a fantasy/DnD style. Keeping my eye on this one.

Great article, but a very painful one to read. Mina the Hollower was one of my most anticipated games this year, and it sucked that it got delayed the same month it was supposed to release in.
What was once considered a less ambitious side project is now the company’s largest game ever. “We basically had to redo everything,” D’Angelo says. If they’d all stuck together from the beginning, Gordon says, “we would’ve finished it two to three years ago.”
So it sounds like the game got delayed because they were split into two teams. One was working on a 3D Shovel Knight sequel, and one was working on Mina the Hollower. The person directing the latter was struggling and slowed down the project, so they fired a bunch of people, focused on Mina, and basically restarted its development.
The good news is that if things go to plan, they said they’ll revisit the 3D Shovel Knight game. I’m really looking forward to that.
Oh my god, I’ve wanted to play this game like 10 years ago but avoided doing so because I heard it’s pay to win. Soon I can finally find out what it’s all about. Being patient pays off!
Seconding A Hat in Time. It’s probably the closest platformer to Mario Odyssey that isn’t Mario. The last DLC (Nyakuza Metro) is especially worth your time.
