I get the general sentiment, but there’s a huge difference between being profit-driven and caring about balancing a budget.

The Evangelical Christian leader of this group was on BBC World Report (via NPR) the other day, and I was absolutely disgusted by what he had to say. The BBC reporter did push back a little bit, but not nearly enough.

Some of us remember the damage that Bush’s stem cell research ban did and how it set the world back decades for literally no reason whatsoever.

This is going to be so much worse than that.

He would just parrot whatever the last person he spoke to said about it.

If he didn’t talk to anyone about it beforehand, he would just talk about how “beautiful” our scientific methods are.

I had an issue with mice a couple of years ago, and it came to blows. I am not proud to say that I committed some horrific atrocities to mouse-kind that will haunt me for the rest of my days.

That said, legends of my brutality must have spread because I haven’t had a mouse issue in years.

The thing is, if you would have done the 2 hours of work immediately, and within 2 hours, you would just be bringing attention to the fact that you only needed 2 hours and you will get more work assigned to you with no benefit whatsoever.

Now they think it actually takes a week, and you’ve properly set their expectations to 2 hours of work per week.
