Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was the most brutal reality check you ever got?English
181·3 days agoMost of your friends aren’t even friends. Went through a breakup a couple years ago and when I needed friends they all abandoned me. Most people only interact with you for their own personal gain, not because they genuinely care about you.
First I’ve heard of it. It just looks like minecraft. Why should I be interested in this?

2·2 months agoI will try it based on your second paragraph.
Are you sure the pipeline works that way? I know what you mean and it would seem like a huge oversight on their part to apply the denoise before the other edits. I would assume that increasing exposure, for example, would ignore the applied denoise rather than apply it overtop? If that wording makes any sense
Regardless I’ve used it to rescue photos I’ve taken on a nexus 4 over a decade ago, making them look like proper photos, and I find the feature so useful that it’s irreplaceable to me
The other feature is the AI content aware fill. In darktable, can you circle a piece of garbage on the ground and effortlessly remove it? Or do you have to do some manual clone stamping etc etc?
In a recent instance, a friend requested an album cover from a 3x2 image that I needed to expand to be 1x1. Can you tell that the left and right edges of this are not real? I don’t think I would have been skilled enough to pull this off without AI tools. https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a1356058193_10.jpg

1·2 months agoDarktable doesn’t have AI denoise, and also doesn’t have camera profiles for fuji RAF files, just off the top of my head.

21·2 months agoNo photo editing software even comes close to lightroom. As I said in the OP I’m simply not interested in alternatives.

16·3 months agoI’m a 90s kid and I still am moving my CRT around like this
If you don’t yet own a sony trinitron, buy one while you can still afford it. These things are skyrocketing in value rn
Dad ran an auto repair shop for 40 years and his dad before him and I’ve had the pleasure of watching it all unfold. My dad refused to allow me to inherit the shop and told me to pursue a different career for my entire life
Maybe it’s possible to make EVs that can be repaired, but just with the state of humanity I don’t think this is ever going to happen
You don’t actually own the car you bought, it’s impossible to repair via third party
I think EVs only exist to bail out the failing car industry
I also think fire risks are underestimated and unlike a normal car fire you can’t just put it out with an extinguisher. I live in BC and one day there’s going to be an EV fire on a ferry and the entire narrative is going to change
I also think they are just plain boring. I hate modern cars entirely but EVs have such a numbed down driving experience that it’s just depressing. In the future I’ll probably just stop driving cars entirely. I live in a pretty bikeable area but the only reason I drive is because I simply enjoy driving my sports car over a bike
I think electric cars are terrible

You’re the obnoxious dickhead. That’s one of the reasons I’m asking this question. I want lights where I can see + not blind people which is why I will probably go oem
You suck

My gf has tattoos and I don’t mind them but I wish she wouldn’t get any more. Impossible to find a girl without tattoos who would date me anyway lol I tend to attract the alternative crowd and basically everyone I’d be into has them so it is what it is
