They are both in some way related to The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
OpenMW is an open source game engine that can be used to play Morrowind. (There is an unfinished “Example Suite”, a CC0 licensed game data that can be used instead of Morrowind game data, so technically OpenMW does not play just Morrowind. Feel free to come help finish the Example Suite)
Skywind is remake / reimagining of Morrowind game in a modified Skyrim engine.
Each entry contains explanations for why they are in a given category.
Fairphone due to having some online code activation thing for OEM unlocking. Bootloader of my FP4 has been unlocked for quite some time now, but if I recall correctly, this activation step was required for me to load custom ROM on it.

This website disappears, you can’t unlock your bootloader.
That is why Fairphone is in Caution section.Microsoft being in “safe” is a bit funny, and the explanation acknowledges that as well.
But it is there due to it containing only two Surface devices, which have easy and standalone bootloader unlock process.
CoMaps is gaining popularity.

Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Lemmy now (partially) federates with Bluesky via Bridgyfed
0·8 个月前Impressive. Always nice to see more interoperability.
Also, I fail to see how second link has anything to do with Bluesky federation.
Until it is suddenly there, while you are unprepared to do anything about it.
Matrix seems like the one with most potential to develop into a 1:1 Discord alternative.
Then you have XMPP, Mattermost, RocketChat, whatever Revolt.chat renamed itself into, etc.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Should there be something that installs Linux to disk directly from Windows?
5·8 个月前Yes, and so is a virtual machine. I’m thinking install Linux to disk so that it can then run directly on hardware.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Should there be something that installs Linux to disk directly from Windows?
51·8 个月前Yes, this is something that should be taken into account when designing this software.
Set dual-boot as a default / design UI in a way that offers dual-boot as a preferred option.
And many other technical issues will probably appear that will have to be figured out.
But I think that at least even thinking about this is a good start.
Also, this reminds me of 2013, when people accidentally nuked their Windows installs with Linux because they wanted to get the Tux in Team Fortress 2 (Valve gave it to people who played Linux version of TF2).
and this year Android also surpasses Ubuntu for personal use (29% vs. 28%).
lol why bother with same OS category when you can just compare across whichever fields you want
Oh, this video by Digital Foundry is also relevant:

Linux@lemmy.ml•Can kids under 10 be possibly taught coding, without even mentioning the word syntax to them ??
1·11 个月前I’m sure that there are games (either video games or IRL physical games) designed for this. Some simple “here are some possible instructions, use them to achieve some goal” thing.
Something like described here:
https://wiredme.com/blog/active-coding-games-for-kids/
But I am interested in knowing more examples of such games. Is there any Wikipedia article for this category of games? Is there any list with more of them described?

4·11 个月前Cool, but the Newerth-related games that I care about are the Savage series.
Maybe they should not have created the bubble in the first place.
Don’t know, but other three Invidious instances listed on https://redirect.invidious.io/watch?v=CBCujAQtdfQ seem to work.

moving from one place to another? Yes, I am capable of that. Transporting some object while moving? I am also capable of that. Yet my car can move faster than me and carry more than me. Therefore it has superhuman transportation capability.
