Parents might have an issue with me abducting their child and taking them to a foreign country lol but it’s an intriguing idea.

Doesn’t really put food on the table or provide shelter but I guess it’s better than nothing.
The thought of my baby nephew having to go through even a fraction of the challenges I’ve had to live through in this sick world just breaks my fucking heart.
The thought of that sweet innocent child exposed to any of the dangers I’ve had to face makes me die inside.
And unfortunately I’m still living through those same dangers and trying to stay alive myself. So if and when he faces those dangers I’m not sure what resources I have to help him, since I apparently don’t have the answers.
I think I’ve only got prayers left at this point.
The one thing I can do if I die is at least leave him what I have in a will.
As a benevolent lord and commander of the universe I am not part of the government and I will enact the ban.
True. I’ll make an exception for aussie.zone.
I’m not sure you can without government overreach and inevitably trampling on someone’s rights.
Unpopular opinion. All social media should be banned. I’m sorry but it’s just too toxic.
Blow up Australia and start again.
That would fall under “mandatory” then.
As for cultural signifier I’ve known plenty of people that went to Uni who honestly would forget to breath unless you reminded them.
Rather than projecting far into the future which you can’t predict and can’t fully control focus for now on making it through hour by hour.
Ask yourself, can I make it through the next hour? If yes, keep going.
If your current residence doesn’t feel safe, while you can’t flee from it completely, stepping away from it might be helpful. For example go to the library, hell even a shopping mall. You don’t need to buy anything.
Yes a lot of uni courses shouldn’t exist and really should be apprenticeships or a form of.
A uni degree in Comp Science. Usually what they teach you is out of date and by the time you are done something new has come along anyway.
I feel like in this field certifications probably hold a bit more weight.
I’m not convinced these days it does give you a leg up to be honest except in professions where it’s mandatory.
And while you might delay the grind, you may very well have to grind longer to pay off the debt incurred.
In short, folks should not be fooled into thinking Uni is some kind of golden ticket.
Join a sports club if you want human interaction, and save yourself the thousands in debt.
If young person today asked if they should go to uni, unless there profession demanded it as mandatory it’s most likely not worth it. You’ll just end up with a lot of debt and not much else to show for it.
University degrees are unfortunately becoming like everything else: a complete scam.
UV and Sun is really strong in summer. Was quite shocked at how easily you can get burnt and it was worse than Australia.
Excellent point that I’d never even considered.
People aren’t forced into using banks in the US? I’m surprised.
And the banks would just love every cent and dollar in their grubby little hands so they can reinvest and make even more super profits than they do now. Too bad if there’s global economic collapse though. And as we saw from the GFC the threat is still real and it would be even more damaging with no cash around.
I’m sorry but I don’t support a cashless society. Banks and Government overreach too much even now, let alone in a future cashless society.
And aside from that, there’s also cybersecurity, connectivity issues, and privacy to consider.
Anyone remember computers going down everywhere at Coles, Airlines and Banks a couple of months ago due to a dodgy software patch? No cash means everything stops.
I wish only the best for Miss Seagoon: happiness, or at the very least peace and contentment.
