That’s right, gotta make sure the government in exile lives in luxury that they’re accustomed to.
The war exposed just how gullible people are. After being fed bullshit for two whole years, they will still guzzle it completely uncritically.
It would basically be a suicide for ASML to go along with this. Same for companies like Micron in Japan that have something like 40% of their sales going to China. The US is asking its vassals to jump on the sword here, and that just might be too big an ask. Losing sales in China alone is an existential threat, but it gets worse because now China will double down on domestic production. Once that gets ramped up, we’ll see Chinese companies compete on the global market in a few years.
The best case scenario for western at that point will be that the west is going to ban all tech from China, but that’s still going to be a tiny market compared to what they had before. That means Chinese companies will be bringing in a lot more profits, and that will translate into doing more R&D. So, we’ll be seeing Chinese tech increasingly pull ahead of the west I expect.
There is a clip where he goes to visit troops after getting elected, and one of the fascists just laughs at him when he says he’s the president and the army has to do what he says. So, I think it was made clear to him who was actually running things right from the start. It’s possible that he genuinely believed his platform before the election, but given who his backers were it should’ve been obvious that they had no interest in any sort of reconciliation.
To be fair, I think his main goal was to show that he personally still has support from the US. This gives him an upper hand in the palace intrigue that’s going on in Ukraine right now. Ultimately, he just wants some breathing room to plan his escape when the whole thing collapses.
Exactly, it’s shockingly blunt and honest. They don’t try to sugar coat it in any way, which was really amazing to me. Perhaps it wasn’t expect to be made public?
wonder if the propagandist who wrote the article was aware enough to realize that
Yeah that’s the one, I remember it because the other amazing bit was this
Indigenous peoples are formally involved in the governance of unceded territories across Canada, including in densely populated areas.
They just straight up admit that Canada is occupying sovereign indigenous land
I really hope these idiots don’t drag us into WW3. It’s certainly looking more likely by the day though.
Didn’t CSIS put out a report how they see people rising up against the government once they realize how fucked they are economically as one of the major risks going forward? I bet that’s what all the beefing up of military is about.
Absolutely hilarious to see how the witch hunts are fuelling brain drain to China.
Indeed, seems like the only people who want ware are the media and the government.
Weird how Russian state owned industry doesn’t have this problem.
look on a bright side though, we’ll have finally solved the whole global warming problem
This was an absolutely terrifying interview with Theodore Postol regarding just how littler response time Russia has in case of a nuclear strike. A decision basically has to be made under 5 minutes, which rules out any sort of a centralized response coordinated at the top. The people in charge of the weapons basically have to make a call immediately whether they end the world or not.
I wouldn’t expect BRICS to do sanctions myself, however undermining western sanctions will be just as impactful.
They have to do this to protect democracy!
I love how it’s always the same copes they keep recycling. What I’m curious about is whether they really believe this themselves at this point.
This is the real genius of the way the west manipulates people in my opinion. Western approach focuses on ensuring that the mainstream narrative aligns with the interests of the oligarchs, with some dissenting voices being allowed at the fringes. Majority of people want to fit in, so they naturally adopt the views of people around them. Meanwhile, contrarian views being allowed on the fringes makes it possible for people to say there’s no censorship, these views just aren’t popular because they’re nonsensical conspiracy theories, and so on. Thus, the very existence of alternative views further reinforces the belief in the mainstream narrative for the majority.
I do think there is a caveat to this though, which is that when the narrative strays too far from the material reality people experience then it starts running into problems. Hence why we’re now starting to see increasing numbers of people falling out of the mainstream.
Incidentally, I thought this was an interesting interview where they point out the growing problems with the Ukrainian narrative and how Europe is now doubling down on censorship because the reality has diverged too far. https://youtu.be/HWvynzLu9yI
