After reaching large-scale operations, the price of a one-way trip between Shenzhen and Zhuhai will be about CNY200 to CNY300 (USD28 to USD42), Zhao noted, adding that a ferry ticket between Shekou in Shenzhen and Jiuzhou in Zhuhai costs CNY140, and the long-distance bus is about CNY100.
Damn. USD22 is roughly what I have to pay for a 1 way trip of just 15-20 km on the PUBLIC TRAIN where I live. This trip is about 50 km (I think?).
Yeah I thought this sounded bourgeois as fuck until I saw the prices. Pretty damn reasonable, assuming that they can get down to that target.
So it’s what, a small electric helicopter basically?
To me it looks more like a scaled up drone, but I suppose that’s just kind of a helicopter depending on your definitions.
yup
Damn. China lives in the future, but Shenzhen lives in the 22nd century.
With the air taxi they just entered 1980’s, at least according to 1950’s futurists.
I pay around USD30 for a 90 minute bus ride into the city from where I live. I would happily pay rates like this for a 20 minute air taxi.
30 dollars for a commute? Jfc!!
Aa, to be fair not my regular commute. I don’t go into the city normally from where I live, I work in my town. But for weekend trips or the like.
I see, I see. Still expensive! And less fun than an electric plane.
The cheapest 90minute bus Ive taken is Amoy bus No.641, 2RMB, 48km. Quanzhou bus No.K207, 7RMB, 47km. Nan’an bus No.126, 10RMB,45km. I mean public transportation should be paid by the gov
im still not getting in a helicopter just cause its electric
