Ah man… these sketchy types hanging around and doing weird shit all the time are really messing with my head -_-
The things they do are ‘petty’ and the things they steal are low value but I’ve gone back to having nightmares about break ins and struggling to sleep.
spoiler
There have been many break in attempts over the years while I’ve been home and I once chased an intruder out of my house. I’ve also faced a shitload of harassment/unprovoked aggression.
It’s a shame that moving probably wouldn’t be the answer (though I’m still trying) because junkies/cooked people seem to be a problem everywhere in Melbourne now.
I prefer to keep to myself and mind my own but one day I’d like to fix my health and get absolutely jacked/strong so I could feel more confident in defending myself if need be.
Yeah, I don’t like my sketch collective either. Shame, because where I LIVE is great. It’s just the volume of sketchy shit.
There’s no easy answer, sorry Melbs
Yup. The actual place can be good but the people can make it unliveable.
This is why we can’t have nice things
Late work shifts suck. On 1130 to 730 this week. What it means though is that I can go get this for breakfast before work:

and that makes it kinda bearable
Is that bowltiful?
Sure is :)
Yum!
Our work is so late we return to base after midnight.
Weekend was pretty chilled. Bit worried about that forecast though! Supposed to go camping weekend after next.
Opinions needed! Eggplant parmigiana (well vege Parma because I also have some zucchini to use up)… usually I just slice and chuck it all in the baking dish raw but I understand this makes me a heathen.
Should I pre-fry? or pre-bake? or just go for it like I have before?
To hell with pre-baking. If the aubergines are particularly liquidy, then scatter breadcrumbs between the layers. This does not prevent putting some breadcrumbs on top to soak up any fat that renders out of the cheese and turns deliciously brown and crunchy.
good idea. My verdict is that pre-cooking probably did help with the sogginess and if I am trying to make “good” eggplant parma I will do that again. But considering as its mostly a cheese delivery system that’s faster than lasangne, I feel ok that the world won’t end if I can’t be arsed.
I like to give then a quick bake first. I don’t know why. It’s just how I’ve always done it.
i lightly brush thick slices with olive oil then grill them
Yeah that’s basically what I do but oven because I’ve got it on anyway.
Good night, sweet dreams
Hayfever is kicking my arse today.
and good night everyone, sweet dreams 😘
I’ve started implementing supervised open window time (with flyscreen)
Because someone can’t help hanging from the fly screen and destroying them so I have to observe to make sure she doesn’t fall through it.
Almost looks like a Croquembouche from a distance.
Cat pyramid.
She’s dorito shaped
Delicious regular mince. Exquisite pre-diced frozen vegetables. Sensuous baked beans.
Luxurious instant pudding to follow.
Toot toot, If anyone would like to contribute to the noble pursuit of science, you can contribute your observations to this gassy project Chart your fart
I said I was gonna make my greasy mee goreng craving yesterday; I didn’t - but I did make it today 😋
Was missing eggs/tofu but still not too bad. Can’t beat real market fresh yellow noodles though vs the ones from the supahmahket
heck yeah
Looks like it might be another day of fieldwork tomz but I have a psych sesh at 5pm so I’m gonna have to haul myself out of bed quite early 🥱
Yummmm. #NoodleGang
Love those types of noodles!
I love Mee Goreng. Nutritionally it’s poor, but dam is it tasty.
Yeah this is winning absolutely no health points but I’ve been having plenty of that the last few days, today I get to indulge!
ooh looks good!
spent the weekend doing so much housework I think today will be a self care day
first up, dying my hair blue black
One dinosaur fact I was reminded of yesterday is the Velociraptor was actually about the size of a turkey, and the dinosaurs we seen in Jurassic park are actually called Deinonychus. Michael Crichton chose the name instead because it sounded better.
Not only did he change the name, he met with the guy that discovered Deinonychus and told him he was changing the name of his dinosaur as well:
Deinonychus were featured prominently in Harry Adam Knight’s novel Carnosaur and its film adaption, and Michael Crichton’s novels Jurassic Park and The Lost World and their film adaptations, directed by Steven Spielberg. Crichton ultimately chose to use the name Velociraptor for these dinosaurs, rather than Deinonychus. Crichton had met with John Ostrom several times during the writing process to discuss details of the possible range of behaviors and life appearance of Deinonychus. Crichton at one point apologetically told Ostrom that he had decided to use the name Velociraptor in place of Deinonychus for his book, because he felt the former name was “more dramatic”. Despite this, according to Ostrom, Crichton stated that the Velociraptor of the novel was based on Deinonychus in almost every detail, and that only the name had been changed.
From Wikipedia
TIL turkeys are as big as velociraptors were 😧
I wonder if they taste the same?
Probably a lot harder to catch. So I think they went extinct for different reasons than the dodo
Probably taste like chicken.
Goodnight everyone, and thanks for tolerating my endless chatter about work ❤️
Good night
Alright, need to remember it’s Tuesday and not Monday. Once I get into that groove I should be good
