Mary is, in fact, not venerated in Islam in the way Catholics use the term.
That’s true, “venerated” was not the best choice of words. But both Mary and Jesus are regarded as exemplary people; Jesus is one of the prophets. And, yes, Tawheed (the belief that there is only one God, who has no partners) is definitely something where Islam differs from almost all forms of Christianity.
