I recognise Ukrainians as victims of US manipulation. I’ve no love for the Russian regime, but understanding the events that lead up to the war help me to recognise why Russia invaded and how it could have been avoided.
Subscribing to the idea that Russians are evil and want to take over the world simply opens you up to further manipulation by US hegemony, and will result in you supporting yet more wars that aren’t in your interest.
If your political analysis can be distilled into a four point compass then you are not a serious person.
I think a civil war on their border that risks spilling over into their territory and threatened their economic relationship with neighbouring EU gives them plenty of reasons to intervene. Especially since they had been actively trying to end the conflict by negotiation with Ukraine for near on a decade, but whose negotiated treaties (the 3 Minsk agreements) kept being violated by Ukrainian fascist paramilitaries.
That isn’t imperialism. It’s the actions of a rational actor and was entirely predictable, especially because Russia consistently stated their intentions throughout.
At least I’ve explained my take. You’ve had ample opportunity to explain why you think I’m wrong. I’ve tried to be respectful. Yes, normal people don’t tend to agree with hexbear takes. But then the average person knows basically nothing about history or politics, is propagandised from the day they were born, and exercises no critical thought. So, you know, a bit of a self own from where I’m standing.
I would be owned, except that you unironically posted a political compass.
Well do you disagree with this?
Do you not support Russia and instead recognise that Ukraine are the victims?

The idea is simple; no one should have invaded Ukraine.
Russia has zero right to invade a neighbouring country because they didn’t like something , that is imperialism.

We did it to the Nazis in ww2
When they invaded another country to steal territory using the pretext of saving members of their ethnicity.
That’s Russia in this situation.
So a lot of words for “yes, I agree with you, your compass is spot-on”, then?
I’m happy with how I’ve expressed myself. I’ll let readers make up their mind.
How many points does your compass have to make your point?
Two? West and East?

To be expected.

Now that’s just public information to begin with.
What’s the bet every upvote on that comment is a Hex troll? Normal people don’t subscribe to their shit takes.

It’s really simple, I don’t need a wall of text.
Invading sovereign nations for territorial expansion is bad.
Good thing that isn’t what Russia is doing then. I know this runs contrary to what the news tells you.
