Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said Israel deliberately manufactured Gaza’s malnutrition crisis by restricting food and aid, attacking civilian infrastructure, and dismantling local food production systems, with devastating consequences for mothers, newborns, and children.
The report found that more than half of the pregnant women treated in MSF-supported neonatal units had suffered malnutrition during pregnancy, while 90 percent of babies born to malnourished mothers were premature and 84 percent had low birth weight.
MSF also said Israel’s use of starvation, militarized aid distribution, and continued obstruction of humanitarian access left the situation “extremely fragile” despite a ceasefire.

And there will be Americans who are ready for that question.
Who have been building toward an answer that is more honest, more just, more genuinely internationalist than anything the American empire has managed in eight decades of claiming to represent those values.
They exist.
They are not nothing.
But there will also be a much larger group that arrives at that moment unprepared.
That has spent their lives inside the psychological comfort of unchallenged primacy and has no framework for what it means to be a country among countries.
A powerful country, still.
A significant country.
But not the indispensable nation.
Not the last best hope.
Not the city on a hill from which the rest of the world is supposed to take its cues.
Just a country.
With a history that will require, finally, full accounting.
With a foreign policy that will require, finally, genuine consequence.
With a population that will need to discover, perhaps for the first time in their national experience, what it feels like to be answered back.
That disorientation is coming.
The only question is whether it becomes a reckoning or a rage.
The whole world is watching to see which one they choose.
