I guess they’re hoping I will get a used etron gt or taycan instead? Those start at such a high price point (especially the Porsche) that they are pretty beaten before they depreciate to a price point I would consider. Also, the utility of a Golf is better for me.

Fortunately for them, they can now continue R&D in hybrids for a couple more years and let Chinese brands deal with innovating and further their economies of scale.
I’m mixed on this, as they now have the ID.3 Neo that sits right there in that segment, so they would have a big overlap. If the 800V, Rivian SW Golf will land the “Neue Klasse” moment for VW, they better do it right and a delay could be necessary to get everything right. They got so much wrong the first time around, now they have improved the models a lot but they will need a real step up. But moving it well past 2028 could also mean missing the critical moment and be just late. We’ll see I guess!
