Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth tells employees he’d rather see AI productivity gains spent building more products than taking more time off.

Yeah, I can make a feature without really bothering about it, just by prompting. It works, so I don’t really care that much, but the PR takes ages to both clean up for review and then review.
Oh, and it also burns on average 3000$ a month, which is with prices we have, that seems to average at about 1$ per 1mil tokens, so you’d have 10k+ down the drain, per month, if using consumer Claude API. The math just isn’t there, like how can they look at literally millions in monthly spend and say “Yeah, that’s worth it”. And that is before the inevitable price increase.
But whatever, I can increasingly see colleagues just giving up and sending PRs that have been probably only reviewed by AI, with AI written description, that a colleague answers to with another AI written review, that is then merged. There’s even someone who keeps answering to chat messages with AI - we do have it wired up, and it sends messages on your behalf, but it tags them as AI, so it’s really fucking obvious. And some do that even in DMs, ffs.
At this point I’m just figuring out what field will I change my career to, while burning thousands of dollars so a bot can do my job while I’m playing games or watching videos waiting for it. I get paid either way, so fuck that.
