This reminds me of an old claymation show with a little yellow character who interacted with household things. Bogus? This interaction would have been incredible.

Yeah it gets pretty crazy trying to clean mold out of a mug, takes bleach and then it might take salt and it might even require being shaken with baking soda inside and then washed with vinegar, if it’s recoverable at all.
Polident denture cleaning tablets. Fill it with water, drop a tablet in, and let it soak over night. Wash/rinse the next day it until the minty flavor is gone (or toss it in the dishwasher). The minty flavor won’t hurt you but it makes coffee taste weird. Also works to clear stains off old mugs or rubber pieces that have gotten funky.

The only ones that ever had soul were in Motown, but I think they’re all basically dead now, too.
