But seriously what kind of predatory policy is that in the first place?

Funny but t2d blinds a ton of folks. If glp1s blind more than t2d, they will pull them off the market.

Because by the nature of how human fats work - there is hardly a safe way to get rid of them without working out. This is why every weight loss drug has had serious side effects.

GLP-1 is like the first one that’s supposedly safe for general public (hence the miracle), but we are already seeing lawsuits and what not from bad side effects, so might not be too big of a miracle after all.

This is without even getting into the cardiovascular system and how this enables lazy lifestyle (instead of working out) that inevitably leads to early death for many

Nothing is free, the difference between medicine and poison is dose.

I would bet my life that there are unknown unfortunate side effects that a lot of people won’t like; time will reveal. There’s a race to sell all that they can now before those side effects are widely known

I was interested in GLP-1 at one point, but after seeing the possible side effect of “hair loss”, I decided my hair was preferable to 20 lb. weight loss.

I honestly don’t even know how they work as they really aren’t common in Europe. That being said, US is positioned in quite a terrible place when it comes to nutritionism, so on average for every pound American eats, they get like 70% percent of the nutrients and vitamins as opposed to someone from UK for example. This means that if Americans start eating less simply because of GLP, malnutrition is going to spike. For many the daily food is so bad that for you to not be deficient, you will be obese.

Looking online, the stats look worse than I remembered, so I’m not sure how accurate it is.

The US is also the home of “we have all this corn we have to figure out how to make money off of” and so did A/B testing to find the snacks which are the hardest to stop eating. It’s scientifically designed to cause obesity.

And artificial flavouring doesn’t help either, since our brains map flavours to nutrients. Cravings for specific foods can be related to how much your body needs nutrients it associates with that food. But artificial flavours don’t come with any nutrients, they are just chemicals that mimic how the actual food interacts with our taste buds. So it can crave foods that do nothing to help with the nutritional needs, you’ll feel good for a bit because of how the body handles hunger (it subsides when we eat, not when we digest it and get access to the nutrients and calories, otherwise we’d always overeat), but then when the nutrient levels don’t change, it craves it again.

That’s how there’s so many people that are simultaneously obese and malnourished. The food has the calories and the body stores them for later use, but it doesn’t have the nutrition while foods have.

Ok, sorry, I wasn’t specific enough. Not all food is created equal. Americans are fat because of sugar consumption and lack of exercise. Not because of a lack of access to or consumption of nutritious food.

                    https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10969708/

causes behind the decline in the nutritional quality of foods have been identified worldwide as chaotic mineral nutrient application, the preference for less nutritious cultivars/crops, the use of high-yielding varieties, and agronomic issues associated with a shift from natural farming to chemical farming. Likewise, the rise in atmospheric or synthetically elevated carbon dioxide could contribute to the extensive reductions in the nutritional quality of fruits, vegetables, and food crops.

US farming tends to be even more “modern”

            This.

Fentanyl will fucking kill you with micro-grams of a dose spliced into that line you’re about to snort.

It’ll also help your brain feel happy after you suffered a traumatic injury and you’re laying in a hospital.
