The other issue is the ruling class is trying to replace good jobs with AI, keeping our wages for manual labor jobs low. Those end up bring harder to automate and have lower wages, so the incentive isn’t there yet.
An easy problem to fix with some planning. Incentivize more healthcare professionals by giving better wages and subsidized room and board while in school.
Go back to ye olden hospitals with a guaranteed living quarters ward for hospital staff and I’m pretty sure they would triple applicants just for the housing stability
