One of the many reasons I always stayed with computer vs. console; I want to control my shit thank you very much.
I don’t think it’s going to work out well for them. If people could see in real time how much money per hour just the electricity to run their entertainment system was I think a lot would take up another hobby.
10 hours for $4 (~$0.40/hour)
25 hours for $8 (~$0.32/hour)
50 hours for $12 (~$0.24/hour)
Time based streaming is a bad idea. Because this will incentivize devs to stretch playtime by adding lot of fluff. Ubisoft comes to my mind first. If I was playing 2 hours per day, would add up to 60 hours each month. I would always have in mind to do everything quick and not enjoy the game. Imagine playing long RPGs with lots of side quests, character customization. Or multiplayer games with many more hours on weekends. And you still need to buy the games.
Nvidia cost 11 Euros (in Germany) and give you 100 hours per months.
I suggest a credit system, where streaming a game cost you credit per minute. Games you own will cost you less credit.
Sorry but the game and the hardware to run it are separate purchases…
You’re still free to buy the hardware. Or you can rent it.
You’re free to buy the hardware at the hyper-inflated prices that NVidia and their DRAM cartel friends have set, if you can afford it, which most people can’t.
And after (little) time for consideration, I’ve decided Microshit can go fuck themselves with a splittering broom handle covered in gangrene.
