Climate@slrpnk.net•Delta Air Lines Walks Back Sustainable Fuel, Net-Zero Goals | The carrier erased a pledge to use 10% sustainable aviation fuel by 2030 and recast its net-zero goal as an “aspiration.”1·10 hours agoThere is currently no clear solution for replacing aviation fuel with renewable alternatives. That’s why it’s extra important to keep making a genuine effort to get there. Somebody is going to solve it eventually and if you’re not prepared for that, you’ll be left holding the bag.

Anybody who thinks Trump’s madness will stop the switch to renewable energy is a fool. The economics are completely unbeatable at this point. Anyone who doesn’t go with the times will be left behind.

Technology@lemmy.ml•[Video] Indian factory workers wearing head-mounted cameras to record hand movements for training AI systems
41·2 days agoRobots can barely pick up a piece of cloth right now. The kind of manual dexterity required for sowing is nowhere near on the horizon. Just look at all the much vaunted humanoid robots they’ve been promising to use in factories for years. Those can’t do anything useful yet, not even pick up parcels.

36·2 days agoDon’t worry. The kind of work these people do is nowhere near possible to replace with AI. CEOs, accountants, lawyers and middle managers on the other hand…

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•In your opinion, is space exploration necessary?
3·5 days agoIs making pointy sticks necessary? Is flint knapping necessary? Is agriculture necessary? I’m pretty sure there were people asking these questions at each of those milestones of human development.
I’d watch that anime.

13·9 days agoI bought a 3Dfx graphics accelerator so i could play Final Fantasy VII on the PC when it came out. It was more expensive than a PS1 would have been but i was a cool PC gamer, of course, not some console peasant. I’m a bit older than OP’s grandpa in this story. And now get off my lawn, damn kids!

Foid is absolutely incel language. It’s like when you use the n-word and claim it’s just a joke.
The coup was what tried to restore the old order that had just broken down on account of its own corruption and incompetence. And asking for sources on that claim of seven million dead would be bourgeois decadence, amirite?
Poland, Hungary, East Germany, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, …
I guess the downfall of the Soviet Union doesn’t count because that was the “wrong” kind of revolution?

Most animals in the wild find barely enough food to survive. That’s why you won’t find a lot of fat animals there. This is also the reason why we’re so fat nowadays. We don’t have an off switch for food because there was no selective pressure to develop one. Food scarcity was normal.
