I wonder if it’s location dependant? I threw some native wildflower seeds in half of my backyard just before winter set in and it grew into a mini meadow the next year without any further input from me. I didn’t even water it
McChicken is the only thing I get from McDonald’s on the rare occasion I stop by in a road trip.
Gotta add pickles though

Greentext@sh.itjust.works•Annon is confronted with the pasing of time and the inevitablity of his incoming death
9·20 days agoMy dad was/is a gamer. We had every Nintendo system except the SNES at release. He’s a little bit older than the grandpa in this scenario, but he still gamed on the old systems by the time I stopped speaking to them. Had a huge CRT in the garage next to the beer fridge and all that lol. My sibling and I had our own games that we could play, but we always had to ask permission because the systems were my dad’s

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you close doors when you live by yourself?
19·21 days agoI keep my doors closed both for climate control and light. I prefer darker spaces but I have indoor vegetable plants in my spare bedroom. I very softly close my doors though, because I’m overly sensitive to sound lol

I still quote this song often. It’s probably a good thing I never had kids, they’d be so embarrassed of me haha
I don’t know the song but YouTube shows it was posted 8 months ago. This comic was originally published decades ago
I think if he had not started those wars the following presidents would’ve exercised far more caution in authorizing strikes. Also, a lot of bad laws were passed during his presidency that allowed the executive to hold more power

20·2 months agoHow are they going to make whole the people who lost their businesses over this tariff bs?
Agree with what everyone is saying, prices won’t come down again because enough people have paid the prices either out of need or ability to absorb the cost.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•ladies, how do I take care of my hold ups' silicone bands?
6·3 months agoWash the bands with warm soapy water, and you can try using alcohol to remove the oils on your legs to see if that helps. You can use thin plastic (I just save the bag I get them in) to keep the bands apart and free of lint while stored. I don’t shave, and haven’t had an issue with fine hairs reducing the staying power of the bands, but you may have more dense hair than I do
It could also be that they are simply too wide to stay on you, and this is what I’d bet is happening to you. They stretch a little while warm from body heat, and if it’s too wide there’s very little room to stretch before falling off. Generalized women’s sizes drive me nuts, a large in that brand would fit me at 5’3 and I highly doubt you and I share a thigh size. So my recommendation is that you try a brand for tall women, or at least find one that advertises a thigh measurement.
My grandmother fully believed in sasquatch as a species, with subspecies in various environments. The ones where she grew up in the northeast were apparently larger, less hairy and more fat than the ones in the swamps where I grew up. To this day I still think she had just seen hunters, but she knew what she saw lol
Wow. You made a lot of assumptions there, but this one is definitely wild:
in a country with no extradition treaty
Why on earth do you think I’m a criminal??
Bottom right is my dream. Give me a plot of wilderness to enjoy and I won’t need anything else from life
Apparently it’s from a game releasing next year called Pragmata

Casual Conversation@piefed.social•Have any advice on dealing with difficult things?
5·5 months agoThe VA offers therapy in a few different formats. I bring this up as a disabled veteran myself, sometimes its just really nice to talk to another veteran who has been through the same thing and hear their perspective.
You have wonderful friends and I’m glad you have their support! But I also know from personal experience how difficult it is to upgrade a disability rating, so I really encourage you to ask your local cboc or VA facility to get you in touch with a peer support. They can even go along with you to the c&p exam to make sure you are heard, and help you talk about the things that are in those letters.
I now have 100% for PTSD, and if that’s what you’re trying to increase for, I can definitely say it’s a more difficult exam than the first one was

It was by an unmaintained strip of lilacs that acted as a property fence. Definitely had some invasive weeds but I suspect not watering them every day like the rest of my backyard killed them. I did need to dig up some Chinese elm saplings a few times, but I’ve had to do that on the rest of my property too
