3·2 days agoI think cats might actually die more from being smart, i.e adventurous, and straying to places where no cat has ventured before
Mariah thinks she could gobble me up in one go and still have room for Christmas Dinner 😀👍

Uhhh you’re wrong, Jesus was crucified
I won’t object to someone doing this as long as they shut up about it, don’t boast to me about it, and basically don’t say any of that stuff in the speech bubbles under any circumstances. I find that these kinds of people are unbearable and eat other Christians alive rather than nurturing a community.

11·5 days agoIt’s true, they cover it in the film about Facebook ( the social network) which is a pretty good watch if you want to get a gist of who Zuckerberg is.

4·6 days agoI feel like never before in history has it been more evident that the super elite are not having fulfilling lives themselves.
For instance: recently, Elon was slandered by some writer saying he can’t appreciate art + movies properly, and since then he’s made a big show of commenting on all the “movies” pages on X-twitter.
So performative. Like Donald Trump’s behaviour rubbed off on him.
As for the others - Bezos and Zuckerberg and more - well, they just seem to be having an awkward time whenever in the public eye. They struggle to find uses for their time and money and end up sending pop stars to the moon and such.
It’s like you said - can you imagine how unfulfilled and disconnected from real life people like Jeffrey Epstein were, to decide their effort was best spent organising an industry of kidnapping, blackmail + sexual slavery? Either the man was a demon, or he was so profoundly impotent - emotionally and conventionally - that he only got his kicks from abusing minors.
It’s definitely a warning sign to anyone still playing the capitalist game.

171·13 days agoWhen we’re at school the teachers never actually take the time to talk about:
- what non-university educated careers
- what they involve
- how to pursue trades based jobs
And it’s weird, because I’m sure everyone would love to at least dabble in woodworking or some other form of craftsmanship. But they don’t get the chance to.
The school-university pipeline works for a lot of people, but I don’t think uni straight after school is the ideal situation for most people. It means we lose sight of what education is actually for, outside of progression to further qualifications

Casual Conversation@piefed.social•I feel bad for having a job that requires nothing from me and I don't tell anyoneEnglish
4·14 days agoI haven’t been this excited about a post in a long time!! I need to know the name of your job position immediately
It sounds like you’re keeping busy with gym and cleaning - you’re nowhere near “NEETdom” if that’s what you’re worried about. That said, I understand the concerns you have… And not to pile on more anxiety, but if you were to change to a different job you might be caught off guard by how demanding it is.
Therefore I recommend you slowly build up to it. If possible, swap out some of the time you spend napping/gaming on the job to do some skills development like coding, art or languages. Equally as useful: use the time to research what other jobs you want to do, and compile a big document of your plans.
I wouldn’t blame you for staying in that position forever. Our value isn’t measured in how much value we provide to our employer, and it’s not your fault that the role doesn’t give you many working hours. You’d also be surprised how little gets done in some fancy office jobs.
