Um, having direct access to pull my government photo ID is a huge deal. Lots of online services require photo ID or other more in-depth verification to pull loans and stuff. So yes, this new vector IS a serious concern.
And paying someone $50 at any DMV? C’mon, man, that sounds like some unfounded bullshit. Hardly anyone is going to risk a cushy government job with solid benefits and great hours for fucking $50, let alone the potential risk of going to jail.
Yeah, people already browse porn with zero privacy precautions, so linking their fetishes to them would be trivial. The main concern is having yet another privacy vulnerability vector for identity theft.

Stardew Valley is already on iOS and Android. But yeah, I do think there are a lot of modern indie games with simpler graphics that would be completely fine. Hell, they just ported Dredge to Android (not sure if they did on iOS or not and too lazy to Google).
Oh for sure, but I don’t think phones that have Snapdragon 865 or higher/equivalent aren’t exactly the norm for older phones people just have lying around in a drawer. Regardless, ARM support for SteamOS is great news, IMO. Really opens up a lot of possibilities for stronger phones.
I have doubts that it would work well on the majority of older phones. I would think that the lack of a sizable memory pool would really be a hindrance to performance, let alone performing well for games. Hell, even on the Steam Deck, I have had to use Cryo tools to increase the page file to expand available memory in a couple of games to avoid crashing problems.
As for retro gaming, there are countless emulators already available on Android that work quite well. I can even play PS2 games on my phone surprisingly well.

But, I am not perfect, and neither is literally every single parent. We’re humans and there are days where we have shorter breaking points and our feelings get the best of us, especially when your kids are being super energetic, chaotic, and not listening to anyone. The important thing isn’t NOT yelling 100% of the time, it’s apologizing and explaining what happened to them afterwards when it does get the better of you.
I really tried to enjoy RDR2. It’s got some great qualities, and the acting, writing, and cutscenes are phenomenal. But… The gameplay… I’m all for slowburn walking simulator type games (e.g. I loved Detroit Become Human, among others).
But with RDR2, the world is so massive and yet there was no sense of excitement when finding stuff. You get just about all your upgrades fairly early in the game. There’s no sense of character gameplay progression. And after just a few hours of traveling around, it felt like I quickly had seen all the random event variations on the roads/trails (e.g. stop bandits hijacking a wagon, robberies, etc). I don’t know, it just felt like a hyper realistic GTA5: Western, but without all the plethora of goofy shenanigans that game has.
Tbf, those types of jobs have a higher degree of turnover and thus need slots backfilled more frequently. Trades jobs can be pretty fuckin miserable, especially ones that are incredibly physically demanding as you age.
Gotcha, that’s what I was thinking as well. I haven’t done any software development in a long time (I have a degree in it, but professional career sent me down another path in tech), so my memory on input sanitization is very rusty. Thanks for the response!
